The invention provides a charger remote online upgrade method and system. According to the method, a charge service platform issues an upgrade instruction to a charger, and whether upgrade is needed is determined according to the operating state of the charger; if it is determined that upgrade is needed, the charge service platform disintegrates an original upgrade file into at least two target program data blocks; all the target program data blocks are sequentially sent to a charge controller and stored into a storage unit of the charge controller; in the data sending process, check codes ofall the target program data blocks are calculated, and the check codes are compared with corresponding check codes sent by the charge service platform; if the check codes are consistent, a next packetof upgrade data continues to be sent; if the check codes are not consistent, data is sent again; and the charge controller combines all the received target program data blocks for upgrade.
