The present invention relates to a machine tool. The machine tool comprises a magazine having a gripping portion for gripping tools. The magazine and the column are connected so that the magazine can move in a direction opposite to the column. The spindle head has a separation cam extending in the ascent and descent direction. The gripping portion has a separating cam follower which abuts on the separation cam when the spindle head ascends and descendsand is fixed to the magazine in a manner of swinging relative to the magazine. The machine tool has a moving mechanism for moving the magazine in a direction opposite to the column.
