The invention discloses an online detection device and method for a pantograph steering knuckle based on image processing. The device comprises three parts such as an image acquisition module, a datatransmission module and an image processing module, wherein the data transmission module transmits image data acquired by the image acquisition module to the image processing module, and the image processing module judges whether a steering knuckle exits or not in a pantograph steering knuckle image captured in real time by using an active shape model learning algorithm.
