The invention discloses a flocculation adsorbent for landfill leachate treatment and a preparation method thereof. The flocculation adsorbent comprises polymer particles obtained by taking a purified waste modified functional polymer as a raw material, and a humic acid metal complex with a small molecular weight in landfill leachate as an initiator through ultraviolet irradiation and alkaline hydrolysis treatment; and the purification treatment is specifically achieved by removing a micromolecular organic additive and an inorganic filler in the waste modified functional polymer. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) extraction of the humic acid metal complex; (2) extraction of the waste modified functional polymer; (3) ultraviolet irradiation treatment; and (4) alkaline hydrolysis treatment.
