Implants and methods of manufacturing the same

An implant includes an implantable device and a stretch-resistant component. The implantable device, such as a coil, includes a proximal end and a distal end and defines a passageway extending from the proximal end to the distal end, while the tensile-resistant member extends along the passageway and connects to the distal end at the junction. The stretch-resistant member includes the first member and the second member. The second part, different from the first part and connected to the first part, comprises a plurality of strands that are connected to a joint and have a connection strength greater than the tensile strength of the first part.
