ELEVATOR DEVICE

In this elevator device, a handrail movable part (8) can move vertically with respect to a handrail base unit (7), between a normal position and a lowered position. A holding mechanism (9) mechanically holds the handrail movable part in the normal position. The holding mechanism comprises a release lever (10). An actuating member (11) is provided above the landing at the topmost floor in the hoistway.
