Application updating method and apparatus

The invention discloses an application updating method and apparatus. The method comprises the steps that an application server generates a patch file according to different class files between update version files and current version files of an application client; the application server sends the generated patch file to the application client; the application client detects whether the patch file exists or not when being started; and the application client loads the patch file in a running process when detecting that the patch file exists, thereby updating the application client. According to the method and the apparatus, the technical problem that the application updating efficiency is reduced due to the fact that current operation of a user needs to be interrupted to enter an installation interface during application updating in related technologies is solved. 本发明公开了种应用更新方法和装置。其中，该方法包括：应用服务器根据应用客户端的更新版本文件与当前版本文件之间存在差异的类文件生成补丁文件；应用服务器将生成的补丁文件发送至应用客户端；应用客户端在应用客户端被启动时检测是否存在补丁文件；以及应用客户端在检测到存在补丁文件时，在应用客户端运行的过程
