The method is characterized in that the machining method comprises the steps of alloy smelting, forging, steel rolling, wire rod hot rolling, surface treatment, primary cold-drawing, annealing treatment, polishing and burnishing treatment and secondary cold-drawing, wherein a H18CrMoA automatic welding wire is formed by subjecting a hot rolled wire rod to stagewise cold-drawing, the hot rolled wire rod is drawn to phi 1.2-10 mm through primary cold-drawing, then the annealing treatment and polishing and burnishing treatment are conducted, secondary cold-drawing machining of the subsequent pass is conducted afterwards, and the effect that the total reduction is greater than or equal to 80% when the hot rolled wire rod is drawn to the finished product size through secondary cold-drawing is ensured.
