Optimized cooling for electric motor in artificial lift

An electric submersible pumping system includes a motor, a production pump driven by the motor, a heat exchanger and an oil circulation pump connected to the motor. The production pump moves fluids from the wellbore through the heat exchanger. The oil circulation pump circulates oil between the motor and the heat exchanger to moderate the operating temperature of the motor.
