Metal detergents

Sulfurised calcium phenate detergents having a reduced unsulfurised alkyl-substituted phenol content are made by: (A) providing, made from an unsulfurised alkyl-substituted phenol, a sulfurised calcium phenate detergent that, optionally, may have been further reacted with carbon dioxide; (B) adding to the detergent from 1 to 100 mass % , based on the mass of the detergent, of an organic solvent that has a boiling point of above 100 DEG C and below the boiling point of the unsulfurised alkyl-substituted phenol; and (C) removing the organic solvent from the detergent thereby to reduce the unsulfurised alkyl-substituted phenol content. 制备具有减少的未硫化烷基取代酚含量的硫化酚钙清净剂的方法，包括以下步骤：(A)提供由未硫化烷基取代酚制备的硫化酚钙清净剂，所述硫化酚钙清净剂任选地可以已经进步与二氧化碳反应；(B)向所述清净剂中添加基于所述清净剂的质量为1-100质量％的沸点大于100℃且小于所述未硫化烷基取代酚的沸点的有机溶剂；和(C)从所述清净剂除去所述有机溶剂从而减少所述未硫化烷基取代酚的含量。
