Insulating paint composition for cable and preparation method thereof

The invention discloses an insulating paint composition for a cable and a preparation method thereof. The insulating paint composition for the cable is composed of styrene modified alkyd resin, polyurethane resin, acrylic resin, a solvent, a curing agent, a plasticizer, a dispersant and inorganic filling; the inorganic filling is selected from one or more of silicate, titanium dioxide and calcium carbonate; the solvent is a mixed solvent composed of ethyl acetate, ethanol and acetone; and the weight ratio of the ethyl acetate to the ethanol to the acetone is 5 to (2-4) to 3 to 4.
