Zusammenfassung: | To provide a lubricant having both exceptional shear stability and low-temperature viscosity characteristics from the standpoint of fuel economy and energy savings in automobiles and industrial machinery. A lubricant composition containing (A) a lubricant base oil having a kinematic viscosity of 1-10 mm2/s at 100 DEG C, and (B) an ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer having (B1) a peak top molecular weight of 3,000-10,000, (B2) no melting peak, (B3) a B value of 1.1 or higher, and (B4) a kinematic viscosity of 140-500 mm2/s at 100 DEG C, the lubricant composition having a kinematic viscosity of 20 mm2/s or lower at 100 DEG C and a peak top at a molecular weight of 3,000-10,000, the weight fraction of components having a molecular weight of 20,000 with respect to high-molecular-weight components having at least the molecular weight giving this peak top being 1-10%.
