Reverse washing filter

The invention relates to a backwash filter (10) which can be backwashed with the liquid to be filtered. The filter according to the invention has a plurality of filter elements (25) arranged in the filter housing (11) and through which flow passes, the arrangement being such that in the filtration operation dirty liquid flows equally through the two ends (26, 27) of the filter elements and in the backwash operation the filter elements are joined at one end to a wash element (33) and are connected at their other end (26), preferably with intermediate connection of a throttle element (45 and 46), to the dirty liquid feed (14). By this means, in addition to high filtration efficiency with low pressure drops, particularly effective backwashing of the individual filter elements is achieved and their blockage is reliably avoided.
