The invention discloses a television picture and peripheral sound synchronous control method. The method comprises the following steps: decoding image signals and sound signals in a target code stream, extracting a sound amplitude peak of the decoded sound signals within a target time period, transmitting the sound signals to a peripheral and playing the sound signals; acquiring ambient sound and extracting an ambient sound amplitude peak within the target time period; comparing the extracted decoded sound amplitude peak and the ambient sound amplitude peak, and calculating a time difference between playing of television pictures and the sound which is transmitted to and played by the peripheral; and in accordance with the time difference, controlling delayed output of television image signals.
