The invention discloses insulating powder coating for a power battery of an electric bus. The insulating powder coating is prepared from components in parts by weight as follows: 55-80 parts of epoxy resin, 2-4 parts of a curing agent, 0.8-2 parts of a leveling agent, 0.5-2 parts of benzoin, 0-0.5 parts of a catalyst, 5-35 parts of filler, 0-2 parts of wax powder and 0-10 parts of pigments. The invention further discloses a preparation method of the powder coating.
