According to the method, the data of corrected voltage, corrected current, corrected power and other metering data are issued by meter correction software except a metering device. After that, the metering device completes the error calculation according to specification parameters and then converts an obtained error into a calibration coefficient. The calibration coefficient is stored in a metering chip. Simultaneously, when the metering device is not calibrated or fails to acquire the calibration coefficient, the metering device conducts the electric energy metering operation according to a default calibration coefficient acquired through the specification parameter-based table searching process.
