The soybean-based formaldehyde-free adhesive comprises, by mass, 30-90% of a soybean adhesive and 10-70% of an inorganic adhesive. The soybean-based formaldehyde-free adhesive has the advantages of high adhesive strength, good waterproof property, effective reduction of the production cost, and excellent market promotion and application prospect in the wood-based plate industry and the furniture manufacturing industry. The invention also provides a method applying the adhesive to a glued plate and a method applying the adhesive to a shaving plate or a fiber plate. The plates made through adopting the applying methods have the advantages of good gluing property, high flexural strength and high static bending intensity.
