The invention relates to an air freshener. The air freshener is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 0.1-6 parts of essence, 3-10 parts of 3-methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol, 0.001-0.01 parts of a bitter agent, 10-50 parts of 95% ethanol, 0.5-8 parts of a solubilizer, 0.01-0.5 parts of a preservative, and 35-50 parts of water; or 0.5-10 parts of the essence, 1-10 parts of water-absorbing resin, 0.001-0.01 parts of the bitter agent, 1-10 parts of the solubilizer, 0.01-0.2 parts of the preservative, and 70-120 parts of the water.
