Zusammenfassung:	Provided are an internal combustion engine control device and control method, whereby the volume of gas in a cylinder and the EGR rate can be accurately calculated using a relatively simple method and the internal combustion engine can be appropriately controlled using this EGR rate, even if the gas temperature in the cylinder changes as a result of the execution of internal EGR.
