The invention relates to a portable water-level measuring post for measuring an underground water level. The portable water-level measuring post comprises a sensor, a receiver, a water gauge and cables. The receiver comprises a control unit, a power supply unit and a warning lamp. The control unit is electrically connected with the warning lamp and the power supply unit separately. The sensor is electrically connected with the control unit and the power supply unit through cables respectively. When two electrode contacts of the sensor make contact with the water surface, the sensor sends an electric signal to the control unit.
