The invention discloses an HTTP long link management method and system, which are applied to the interaction of a client and a message server. The HTTP long link management method comprises the following steps: transmitting an HTTP long link request at the client; receiving the HTTP long link request which is transmitted by the client on a message server side, establishing a TCP link with the client according to the received HTTP long link request, and pushing replied data, wherein the replied data comprise a random address attribute; judging whether the pushed replied data are received within polling heart beating time at the client, and transmitting the next HTTP long link request when the pushed replied data are received within the polling heart beating time.
