In the electric resistance welding process, a fire hydrant, a nut cover, a bottom cover and a welding system are adopted, wherein the top of the fire hydrant is provided with a top opening; the bottom of the fire hydrant is provided with a bottom opening; the welding system comprises an upper electric resistance welding electrode, a lower electric resistance welding electrode, an internal electric resistance welding electrode wheel, an external electric resistance welding electrode wheel and a power supply source; the upper electric resistance welding electrode, the lower electric resistance welding electrode, the internal electric resistance welding electrode wheel and the external electric resistance welding electrode wheel are electrically connected with the power supply source.
