The invention provides an elevator having an image recognition function, the elevator can be properly controlled by directly judging if passengers in the elevator are crowded. The elevator comprises: a passenger sensor which can measure image information comprising positions of passengers in the elevator, a passenger feature extraction part which can at least extract the positions of passengers in the elevator from the image information of the passenger sensor, a position standard crowd judgement part which can judge if the passengers in the elevator are crowded according to the passenger position information extracted by the passenger feature extraction part, and a control part which can control the operation of the elevator or perform guiding corresponding to the crowded degree judged by the position standard crowd judgement part. 本发明提供种具备图像识别功能的电梯，准确地判断依存于电梯的轿箱内的乘客的位置是否拥挤来适当地控制电梯。本发明的具备图像识别功能的电梯包括：乘客传感器，其能够计测包含电梯的轿厢内的乘客的位置的图像信息；乘客特征提取部，其从乘客传感器的图像信息中至少提取轿厢内的乘客的位置；位置基准拥挤判断部，其根据乘客特征提取部提取出的乘客的位置的信息判断所述电梯的轿厢内是否
