A pixel array of the display is formed by repeating a plurality of basic pixel units along the horizontal direction and the vertical direction. The pixel array is provided with sub-pixels which are located in pixel spaces of at least two different pixels. The pixel array comprises a first sub-pixel of a first color, a second sub-pixel of a second color and a third sub-pixel of a third color. The display method comprises the steps of respectively acquiring first data representing the location of each color and a grayscale value required to be displayed; respectively acquiring second data representing the space proportion occupied by each pixel of each color in the pixel array; acquiring third data as for each sub-pixel contained in each pixel according to the first data and the second data so as to carry out image display, wherein the third data represents a display grayscale value of each sub-pixel of the pixels in the pixel array.
