The sepn. is effected in a distn. zone, from which a head fraction comprising most of the ethylene is obtd. and 0 -100% of the 1-butene in the mixt. The process involves the addn. of extra 1-butene in the ratio of 1 to 40 times the amt.(wt.) of 1-butene in the mixt.
