The invention discloses a lithium battery load capacity detection method and device. The method comprises the steps of: under a plurality of output currents, collecting internal resistance voltage drops of lithium batteries different in load capacity, wherein the load capacities of the lithium batteries are known; implanting the internal resistance voltage drops collected under the different output currents and the corresponding load capacities into a detection and control module; detecting the internal resistance voltage drop of a lithium battery to be detected through the detection and control module; and comparing the internal resistance voltage drop of the lithium battery to be detected with the internal resistance voltage drops of the lithium batteries whose load capacities are known, and obtaining the load capacity of the lithium battery to be detected.
