Zusammenfassung:The invention discloses a projection and structure characteristic-based in-image mathematical formula detection method. According to the method, any text image is subjected to graying operation, binaryzation operation and segmentation operation. Projection characteristics and intercharacter structure characteristics of segmented characters are obtained and are compared with projection and structure characteristics of given characters, and therefore a mathematical formula text image can be detected. The given characters comprise a fraction/matrix/greater-than-or-equal-to sign/smaller-than-or-equal-to sign, a multiple sign, a radical sign containing character/non-completely segmented fraction, a mathematical vector, a superscript or subscript containing character and a special character in a mathematical formula.
