The invention discloses an animal control rod which is composed of a control neck ring and a control rod matched with the control neck ring. The control neck ring comprises a semicircular main ring body (1) and a semicircular auxiliary ring body (2), the two sections of the main ring body (1) and the two sections of the auxiliary ring body (2) are each provided with a through threaded hole (3) which is concaved inwards in the direction perpendicular to the corresponding section, and therefore the main ring body (1) and the auxiliary ring body (2) can be combined into a closed control neck ring through screws; the inner diameter of the control neck ring is larger than the diameter of the neck of an animal to be controlled and smaller than the diameter of the head of the animal to be controlled; a metal lantern ring (4) is installed on the main ring body (1) or the auxiliary ring body (2), one end of the control rod is provided with a hook (5) which can hook the metal lantern ring (4), and therefore the animal
