Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a C8 arene isomerization catalyst, which comprises a composite carrier and VIII group metal loaded on the composite carrier, wherein the content of the VIII group metal is 0.01-1.0 mass percentage which is calculated by taking a dry basis carrier as a benchmark, the composite carrier comprises 1-12 mass percentage of pre-treated ZSM-5 zeolite or ZSM-11 zeolite, 1-38 mass percentage of mordenite and 50-98 mass percentage of alumina, a pretreatment method is characterized in that water vapor is used for processing HZSM-5 zeolite or HZSM-11 zeolite, or is used for performing sodion anti-commutation on the HZSM-5 zeolite or HZSM-11 zeolite.
