Dimethylphosphinic acid glutamate is synthesized by heating glutamic acid, formaldehyde and phosphorous acid in a ratio of 1 to (2-5) to (1.5-2.5) under the hydrochloric acid acidic condition at 20-120 DEG C. Glutamic acid has excellent scale inhibition and corrosion inhibition performance, can be independently used and can also be compounded with other scale-inhibition dispersion agents, corrosion inhibitors, bactericides and the like for use.
