The invention discloses a remote monitoring method and a remote monitoring system. The remote monitoring method comprises following steps: collecting operation data of a device to be monitored; generating corresponding acoustic wave control signals according to the operation data and a preset first dictionary table; generating and sending transmission acoustic wave having corresponding intensity under the control of the acoustic wave control signals; receiving the transmission acoustic wave and converting the transmission acoustic into corresponding audio signals; generating corresponding status description information according to the audio data and a preset second dictionary table.
