Locking device comprising a flap configured to swing on hinge towards a base, the flap having distal tongue and base having distal housing, wherein if tongue is forced into housing it is locked by mechanical catch. The flap and housing each have a pair of magnets such that magnets on flap are fixed, whereas those on housing are attached to a slider, such that whilst flap swings towards base, the slider is open and the flap magnets repel, urging flap away from housing. However, when closed flap is within housing, the magnets on flap attract magnets on slider causing the slider to slide closed. A mechanical clasp holds flap closed.
