Zusammenfassung:	The invention discloses a gas water heater and a control method thereof. The gas water heater comprises a body, a condenser, a smoke exhaust pipe and a condensate water removal device, wherein the condenser is arranged in the body; the smoke exhaust pipe is arranged on the body and communicates with the interior of the condenser; and the condensate water removal device is arranged in the condenser and used for atomizing and/or gasifying condensate water in the condenser and conveying the water to the smoke exhaust pipe. No condensate water is drained since the gas water heater is provided with the condensate water removal device; as the condensate water removal device is arranged in the condenser, the whole gas water heater is simple in structure and convenient to mount, thereby lowering the cost.
