An embodiment of the invention discloses a method for accessing a terminal to a network. The method comprises the steps of searching long term evolution (LTE) networks, and sending a joint registration request to one target LTE network that is searched; receiving a response result that is sent from the one searched target LTE network and is for the joint registration request; and if the response result that is sent from the one searched target LET network and is for the joint registration request only allows non-joint registration, searching a 2G/3G network, and initiating a registration process to the searched 2G/3G network.
