The invention discloses an assistant for improving the leak stopping performance of a cyanogen coagulation leak stopping agent, a preparation method thereof, and the cyanogen coagulation leak stopping agent. The assistant comprises 5-8wt% of a first retarder, 2-4wt% of a second retarder, 1-3wt% of a foaming agent, 55-65wt% of a solvent, and the balance of water; the first retarder is benzenesulfonyl choride and/benzoyl chloride; and the second retarder is ethylene diamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid sodium. The assistant can effectively control the reaction speed of cyanogen coagulation and water and delay the cyanogen coagulation solidifying time through synergism and compounding effects of above proportions of all above components, improves the compressive strength of the solidified cyanogen coagulation leak stopping agent, and improves the leak stopping effect of the cyanogen coagulation leak stopping agent.
