Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a belt retractor (10) for a safety belt, comprising a belt spool (20) for retracting and extending the safety belt, and a belt-force-limiting device comprising a first and a second torsion rod (30) for belt force limitation. According to the invention, the belt retractor (10) has a freewheel gear (60) operating according to a rotational angle, which initially leaves the second torsion rod (30) inactive following the activation of the belt force limiting device, while the first torsion rod is already twisted for belt force limitation, and the freewheel gear (60) activates the second torsion rod (30) as soon as the freewheel gear (60) has been rotated by a pre-defined maximum freewheel rotational angle.
