Zusammenfassung:	A guide mechanism (30) for a machine tool includes a movement member (31) and a guide member in a form of first and second rails (141,142), the movement member and the guide member relatively movable to each other. A hydrostatic pressure guide mechanism (40) and a sliding guide mechanism (50) are formed between the movement member (31) and the first and second rails (141,142). The hydrostatic pressure guide mechanism (40) includes a static pressure chamber (41), a seal portion (42) sealing a periphery of the static pressure chamber (41), and a supply passage (43) configured to supply a lubricating oil into the static pressure chamber (41).
