The method comprises the following steps of grinding, reduction, acid dissolution, filtering and drying which are carried out on boron oxide and aluminum powder according to a certain proportion. According to the method, proportion of raw materials boron oxide to aluminum powder is 5:3.5-4.5; before usage, the raw materials are ground to pass through a 150-mesh sieve; reduction temperature is 80-900 DEG C, reduction time is 30-50 minutes; and acid dissolution is characterized in that dissolving is carried out by hydrochloric acid with mass concentration being 20-30%. The method has the advantages of reasonable design, strong operability, short preparation technological process, and simple and controllable process, and provides slight corrosion to equipment, and purity and yield of the prepared boron powder are high.
