The invention discloses a gesture recognition method and device; the device comprises a microprocessor and at least two distributed probe units respectively connected with the microprocessor; the probe unit senses an induction signal, captures an induction signal direction, and sends the direction to the microprocessor; the microprocessor obtains the sequence of the induction signals captured by the probe units, and determines a stroke flow of the induction signals according to the signal sequence, the distributed positions of the probe units, and the directions of the induction signals of each probe unit, thus obtaining a gesture recognition result. The method and device can save recognition cost, and can simplify recognition operations.
