The fusion welding method comprises the steps of welding preparation, welding preheating, welding, welding bead protection, welding post-cooling, welding joint formation, internal quality inspection and the like. Through the fusion welding method disclosed by the invention, workpieces made from copper or copper alloy materials and having thicknesses of more than 20mm can be welded; and the purposes of carrying out heating fusion on base metal and ensuring stable states of liquid metals in a welding pool are realized.
