Zusammenfassung:	The invention provides radix rehmanniae and novel application of a radix rehmanniae extract and particularly provides application of the radix rehmanniae or the radix rehmanniae extract to preparation of medicines or healthcare products for improving liver functions and medicines or healthcare products for treating and/or preventing liver associated diseases and/or symptoms. According to results, the radix rehmanniae or the radix rehmanniae extract is capable of effectively improving the liver functions, such as repairing of hepatic cells, improving of oxidation resistance of the hepatic cells and reduction of content of ROS (reactive oxygen species) in the hepatic cells. In addition, the radix rehmanniae or the radix rehmanniae extract can be effectively used for treatment and/or prevention of the liver associated diseases and/or symptoms such as liver injury, fatty liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatic failure.
