The method comprises: an electronic device sending a preset communication instruction to a battery, and when parameter information fed back by the battery is received and the battery is analyzed and determined to meet a preset standard battery rule according to the parameter information, determining that the battery is a standard battery matched with the electronic device. The electronic device sends the communication instruction to the battery to ensure that the battery feeds back the parameter information, and the electronic device can analyze whether the battery is the standard battery according to the parameter information; in the process, the electronic device performs analysis based on the parameter information fed back by the battery, instead of performing analysis on external performance of the battery; the parameter information of the battery can represent a condition of the battery more accurately; a result obtained by performing analysis based on the parameter information fed back by the battery is relatively high in accuracy; and whether the battery is used as a power supply battery of the electronic device is selected based on the analysis result, so that the safety of the electronic device is improved.
