The invention discloses a degradable building material. The degradable building material comprises, by weight, 25-48 parts of stone flour, 12-46 parts of gypsum, 24-36 parts of titanium dioxide, 10-36 parts of magnesium hypophosphite, 14-48 parts of slag, 10-46 parts of petroleum resin, 14-24 parts of platane wood dust, 2-14 parts of bio-cellulose, 10-14 parts of a vinyl ketone copolymer and 48-78 parts of starch modified polyethylene. The degradable building material prepared in the above mode does not generate solid wastes after natural environment absorption, digestion and decomposition, and the decomposition rate of the degradable building material in the natural environment is greatly accelerated, so environment pollution is reduced, and the burden of the natural environment is reduced.
