The invention discloses a handheld sponge polishing wheel which comprises a sponge base body. The sponge base body is divided into a contact face, side faces and an installation face. The contact face and the side faces are provided with thin film layers. An abrasive and glue mixture layer is arranged on the upper surface of the thin film layer. The abrasive and glue mixture layer comprises a glue layer and an abrasive layer. The glue layer is exposed out of the upper middle of the abrasive layer. The abrasive layer is composed of polishing blocks which are in regular geometrical shapes. Grooves are formed between the polishing blocks and are communicated. A glove tightly attached to the installation face is installed in the middle portion of the installation face. According to the handheld sponge polishing wheel, the grinding sharpness is greatly improved, the grinding efficiency is high, and the working strength of grinding and polishing is effectively reduced.
