The invention discloses a sponge polishing wheel which comprises a sponge base body. A film layer is arranged on the upper surface of the sponge base body. A grinding material and glue mixture layer is arranged on the upper surface of the film layer and comprises a glue layer and a grinding material layer. The upper middle portion of the grinding material layer is exposed out of the glue layer. The grinding material layer is composed of regular polishing blocks in a geometrical shape, and grooves are formed between the polishing blocks and communicated with one another. According to the sponge polishing wheel, grinding sharpness is greatly improved, grinding efficiency is high, and the work intensity of grinding and polishing is effectively lowered; and heat radiation is good, and the service life of the sponge polishing wheel is prolonged effectively.
