The invention discloses an elevator which comprises an elevator car, an air monitoring device, an alarm device and a voice player. The air monitoring device comprises a smoke detector, a sensor, a data receiver, a processing unit and an air purifier, wherein the smoke detector and the sensor are both arranged in the elevator car and connected with the data receiver; the data receiver, the air purifier and the voice player are all connected with the processing unit; and the air purifier is arranged on the elevator car. The alarm device is used for giving an alarm when the elevator breaks down, and the voice player is arranged on the elevator car. According to the elevator, the smoke detector and the sensor detect the air quality in the car in real time, the air purifier is started according to a detection result so that the purpose of purifying air in the car continuously can be achieved, the air quality in the car is kept good, and germ infection is reduced.
