The IPv6 address generating method comprises the steps: obtaining a user network identifier of a first preset length, obtaining current time information of a second preset length, and obtaining user Media Access Control (MAC) address information of a third preset length; sequentially connecting the user network identifier, preset select bits of a fourth preset length, preset reserved bits of a fifth preset length, the current time information and the MAC address information to generate the data of 64 bits; according to a pre-selected first encryption algorithm and a first secret key, encrypting the generated data to generate an interface identifier; and combining an address prefix and the generated interface identifier to generate an IPv6 address. The method is advantageous in that the address generating speed is fast and the configuration is simple, suitable for user tracing in the network, and good for network administration and control.
