Wire rope connection device and method for replacing crane wire rope

The invention provides a wire rope connection device. The wire rope connection device comprises a first connection sleeve, a second connection sleeve and a cross connector, wherein the first connection sleeve is used for installation of an old wire rope; the second connection sleeve is used for installation of a new wire rope; the cross connector is arranged between the first connection sleeve and the second connection sleeve and used for connecting the first connection sleeve with the second connection sleeve. The cross connector can freely rotate in the first connection sleeve and the second connection sleeve, so that the wire rope connection device can be tightly attached to a pulley block and a spiral groove of a roller when the old wire rope is replaced with the new wire rope, the phenomenon of groove disengagement or groove jumping is avoided, and replacement between the old wire rope and the new wire rope is also facilitated. The invention further provides a method for replacing a crane wire rope.
