Thermosensitive recording medium

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a thermosensitive recording medium having a high recording density and a recording section with excellent storage stability, or a thermosensitive recording medium having a high recording density, excellent resistance to thermal background discoloration in high-temperature environments, and excellent anti-sticking properties and resistance to the adhesion of residue to thermal heads. The present invention is a thermosensitive recording medium having, atop a support body, a thermosensitive recording layer that contains, at the least, a leuco dye and a coloring agent, said thermosensitive recording medium comprising, as a coloring agent, a sulphonamide compound represented by general formula (1) and (a) having an additional protective layer atop the thermosensitive recording layer; containing, in the protective layer, at least one kind of adhesive selected from the group consisting of water-soluble adhesives and water-dispersible adhesives; and containing a water-resistant agent in the thermosensitive recording layer and/or in the protective layer, or (b) containing, in the thermosensitive recording layer, a saturated fatty acid amide represented by general formula (2).
