Zusammenfassung:	A first yarn monitoring device (1) comprises a first light emitting part (21) which emits light in a yarn passage (13) which comprises a part forming a yarn channel (Y1) in which yarns (Y) move, and a first reflected light receiving part (31) and a second reflected light receiving part (35) receiving light reflected by the yarns (Y). Seen in a direction parallel to the yarn channel (Y1), the first reflected light receiving part (31) and the second reflected light receiving part (35) are arranged at positions to receive the light that is reflected by the yarns (Y) in reflectance directions (A2, A3), wherein the angles (alpha, beta) formed between the reflection directions (A2, A3) and an incidence direction (A1) at which light is incident on the yarns (Y) are obtuse angles.
